Imunoglukan® is safe and effective either taken orally or applied topically.

ORALLY:

1. Imunoglukan® travels through the digestive system and reaches the small intestine. Being indigestible it is not broken down by the body, thereby maintaining its natural structure necessary for its immuno-modulating activity.

2. In the small intestine it reaches Peyer's patches. These are nodules with a high concentration of immune cells.

3. Immune cells in the Peyer's patch can easily detect Imunoglukan® as receptors on the surface of these are especially sensitive to its presence.

4. Once immune cells detect the presence of Imunoglukan® they are "convinced" that a pathogen has entered the body and begin a cascade of immune activities against viral, bacterial, fungal and parasitic infections.

TOPICALLY:

Topically, Imunoglukan ® activates keratinocytes and specialised immune cells of the skin, called Langerhans Cells (LC) found in the epidermis.

Keratinocytes, the most common type of skin cell,
are activated by Imunoglukan®, which then communicate to other skin cells using cytokines.

The release of cytokines activates immune responses and skin regeneration processes

LCs are the most important immune cells of the skin responsible for identifying and transporting antigens to the lymph node. LCs play an important role in skin regeneration and healing processes.
